Coronavirus Aftermath – A note from Chris and Nikki

We thought it would be lovely to connect with you all over this period of lockdown. We are praying for you for your safety and health as we all learn to adapt to the new way of life that is presented to us.

We ask that you will stand with us as we pray for our country and world for healing, for wisdom and for all those working through this on the front line and for those that are isolated at home. We know that God will be Glorified through this situation and that as Christians we will rise to the challenge that is before us. We need to step out to help those in need and to share the love of Christ and the hope we have in him with those who don’t yet know our Lord.  We pray that through this time, God will challenge, grow and equip us and also allow us to rest while waiting in Him.

Although these are very difficult times for us all, living in a world of uncertainty from the Coronavirus outbreak, we are assured and know we have nothing to fear as we have a Saviour who will carry us through this challenging time – we are not alone – and we have a capable God who can move mountains so this virus is nothing to him.

Psalm 91:9 has been a huge encouragement through this time.

“If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you, no plague will come near your home. For He will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.”

All we are asked to do is to love God, trust in him and call on Him – and He will be with us in times of trouble and rescue and honour us.

We find this time so strange and hard and yet so amazing all at the same time. For all of us I think we can admit that we can be so busy in our lives, work, ministry, church life, family etc that we don’t ever get the chance to stop and just be still! Finally for us that time has come with no choice of our own, yes we have a little one to look after who is full on and the ministry needs to keep going as best we can from home. But the peace – the space to just be still and the time to put family and God first is just so important and clear as the noise has stopped – the birds are singing, the weather is beautiful and God’s scenery is just popping out all around us. Although this is a hard time and a time of adjusting we are so thankful for this opportunity to re-evaluate our lives, our ministry and our walk with our faithful God.

We believe that God is very much at work at this time in all things seen and unseen and believe He wants us to be prepared for this next season to come. He is waking up his people and using this time as a warning that things are going to change and be more different than we could ever imagine.

As Christian’s we have become comfortable in our lives and our church life, what we have done in the past should be left there and what we believe we need to do is seek Him for the way we work in our ministries, churches and personal lives for the future. The aftermath of this pandemic is going to be massive and be right outside our Church doors as we see lots of hurting people, people struggling with mental health, people with questions who need answers, help and support. They are going to need to know the Hope we have in Jesus and hear the only answer to Salvation through the Gospel. As God's people are we prepared this task that lies ahead of us.
